Banishing Imposter Syndrome
Have you ever felt pulled toward something new, but doubted whether you could actually make it happen?
Big career moves can feel intimidating. You might wonder, Am I really capable of succeeding in a new path? That doubt? It’s often just imposter syndrome talking—the inner voice that tries to convince you that no matter how much you’ve accomplished, it’s not enough.
The easiest way to never deal with imposter syndrome?
Simple: Stop growing. Stop learning. Stay exactly where you are. Of course… that comes with a side effect. Abject boredom.
Imposter syndrome isn’t a sign that you’re not capable.
It’s a sign that you’re stretching beyond what’s comfortable.
I’ve felt it and the things that helped me push through were:
Practicing self-talk and reminding myself of the many times the impossible became easy
Focusing on my strengths and the significance of my goal
Surrounding myself with people who understand and believe in me
Having a community to lean on is huge—when you start to doubt yourself, they can help you find clarity. When your confidence wavers, they’ll remind you of your strengths and cheer you on.
Growth comes when you keep moving forward despite the doubt.
